Objectives

The #EU2gether project was created to respond to a real need identified among young Europeans: to better understand the importance of the European Union, its fundamental values, and the ways in which they can actively contribute to strengthening democracy and solidarity within their communities. In the current context, marked by misinformation, civic passivity, and limited perceptions of European identity, the project aimed to create an inclusive environment where young people could learn through direct experience, collaborate, and develop their civic, social, and intercultural competences. Through the planned activities, the partners aimed to encourage active participation, critical thinking, and intercultural dialogue, thus contributing to the formation of a generation of young people aware of their role in promoting democratic values and European citizenship. The project was based on the principles of non-formal education and experiential learning, offering young people the opportunity to discover the values of the European Union through collaboration, creativity, and direct interaction. The main goal of the project was to promote the fundamental values of the European Union – respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and respect for human rights – through participatory and inclusive methods that strengthen the sense of belonging to the European community. The project objectives, as formulated in the application, were: O1. To develop an increased knowledge among 40 youths about the European Union's importance, history, institutions, policies, values, and promote a greater sense of inclusion and belonging to the EU community, during 12 months. O2. To develop the competencies related to democracy and inclusive democratic participation among 40 youths, motivating them to actively engage in democratic processes within their communities. O3. Raise awareness about the Erasmus+ program and opportunities among 40 youths, fostering solidarity, multiculturality and collaboration. These objectives formed the foundation of the entire project and were designed to directly respond to the needs identified among young people, as well as to support the horizontal priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme, such as inclusion, diversity, democratic participation, and the digital dimension. The project aimed to develop a European perspective based on common values, cooperation, and active engagement. #EU2gether sought to contribute to the formation of a generation of informed, open, and supportive young people, capable of promoting the principles of democracy and mutual respect. Through a non-formal and participatory approach, the project offered young people the opportunity to express their opinions, work in multicultural teams, and develop skills that would enable them to act as active citizens in society. At the same time, the project promoted European cooperation between youth organisations, facilitating the exchange of experiences, good practices, and ideas that contribute to institutional capacity development and to improving the quality of activities addressed to young people. #EU2gether focused on intercultural learning, solidarity, and empathy, valuing diversity as a common resource. Through these directions, the project aimed to strengthen the sense of belonging to the European community and to inspire young people to become promoters of a Europe united through values, democracy, and cooperation.
