Objectives

Through the implementation of this project, we aimed to increase young people's engagement in environmental protection and sustainable development, with a special focus on youth from rural areas or with lower levels of education. We intended to use the power of mass media to foster critical awareness and a deeper understanding of environmental issues and the media’s influence on public perception. Through this project, participants developed the necessary competences to become responsible media consumers, capable of critically assessing information and actively contributing to the promotion of sustainable practices. We aimed to provide young people with learning opportunities through interactive activities, workshops, and international exchanges of good practices. The specific objectives of the project were: 1. To develop competences in the fields of climate change and sustainability for a group of 23 young people, including 10 from disadvantaged backgrounds, through practical activities and educational sessions on the influence of mass media on the environment. 2. To increase the capacity of participating organizations to work with disadvantaged youth and to better integrate sustainability aspects into their future projects. Through this project, we aimed to encourage the civic engagement of young people, to equip them with tools for active participation in their communities, and to promote international cooperation in the field of environmental education. We mention that instead of the 24 participants initially planned, only 23 took part in the exchange, as one young person from Estonia was unable to attend due to a unexpected event. The sending organization from Estonia was informed of this issue one week prior to the mobility, which did not allow sufficient time to find and prepare a replacement. Additionally, instead of 11 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, there were 10, as follows: • 2 from Estonia • 2 from Hungary • 2 from Serbia • 4 from Romania
