Objectives

The primary aim of this project was to equip 24 youth workers with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools to recognize and combat digital burnout among young people. By strengthening the capacities of youth workers, the project sought to foster a ripple effect—empowering them to raise awareness and implement preventive strategies within their communities. Given their role as mentors, facilitators, and role models, youth workers are uniquely positioned to influence young people’s behaviors and attitudes. By addressing issues related to excessive screen use and its impact on mental health, youth workers can promote healthier digital habits and encourage more meaningful social interactions. The core idea behind the project was to ensure that the 24 youth workers who participated in the mobility would return to their home communities equipped to support young people in: • Recognizing the signs of digital burnout • Reducing screen time • Engaging in more face-to-face communication and social interaction • Adopting healthier routines and digital boundaries The project also aimed to help young people develop key life skills such as time management, goal-setting, and media literacy—essential for navigating the digital age with resilience and balance. Objectives: 1. To increase awareness by at least 15% among the 24 youth workers regarding the concept of digital burnout—its causes, symptoms, and impact on the mental health of young people—through a 7-day structured training course. 2.To equip the 24 youth workers with at least 10 practical, ready-to-use strategies for identifying and addressing digital burnout in their daily youth work practice. 3. To encourage participants to collaboratively create a collection of 30 educational resources, including toolkits, guides, activities, and digital wellness materials. These resources aim to be accessible to and used by at least 500 youth workers across Europe, amplifying the project’s long-term impact.
