The project aimed to strengthen the capacities of youth workers by offering them a high-quality non-formal learning experience focused on enhancing their professional skills, intercultural competence, and knowledge transfer. The main objectives were: - To provide youth workers with tools and methods to improve the quality of their youth work practice. - To create opportunities for peer learning and exchange of best practices among youth workers from different countries. - To support the professional development of youth workers by fostering their competences in non-formal education methodologies. - To contribute to the objectives of the EU Youth Strategy by promoting inclusion, active citizenship, and cultural diversity. - To generate sustainable impact within the participating organizations by integrating the newly acquired competences into their regular youth work activities. Moreover: - That overland travel to a learning event adds value to the learning process and that the travel can be integrated into the curriculum in a meaningful way. We assumed that the intention with which participants come to an event helps to connect with likeminded people along the way, and that the return travel can be very impactful for dissemination - That arts and physical work can be integrated into learning programs adding value by expanding the process to include all of one's being, rather than just the mind. We assumed that artists and professional craftspersons (including farmers) have their own style of working and they can bring this into learning program design in a systematic way, arriving at synergies that we wanted to experience. - That people concerned about the state of the world and aware of the systemic nature of the crisis would benefit from peer to peer networking and co-creation. We assumed that practitioners are ready to take responsibility for building their own learning community and self-organise so that they can respond as a collective to emerging needs (rather than waiting for instructions or focusing on a single “solution” that risks becoming a problem due to unintended consequences).
