Objectives

Our project, "Hear my voice" is a 12-month, 10-workshop course intended for orphans between the ages of 13 and 20 in the municipality of Teaca and dedicated to civic awareness, acquisition of expressive skills and dialogue with the public administration. The Program stems from an awareness of the difficulties this target group faces in fitting into the community, coupled with the bias that often accompanies orphanhood and a low level of interprersonal skills and competencies regarding their rights. "Hear my voice" aims to educate, through informal and nonformal experiences, and impart to the target group an understanding of their rights and duties in the civic arena. It offers cues and practical ways to strengthen self-esteem and the ability to express oneself, up to the point of dialoguing with the public administration and learning how to make one's voice heard within the community.
