Objectives

Among young people with sensory vision impairments, there has been a limitation of independent life skills and abilities, which are largely caused by deficiency itself, but also their secure environment. This problem has been raised through various and repeated activities within vulnerable groups of young people with sensory visual impairments. Starting from this problem, this program was created where young people can develop independent life skills, the experiential part involves two trips. These trips are in different cities, the first being Bucharest-Budapest-Ljublijana-Zagreb-Budapest-Bucharest, and the second being Dej-Budapest-Vienna-Prague-KarlovyVary-Brno-Debrecen-Dej. The journey will last 12 days each. In the first trip will participate 3 young people with sensory vision impairments with a leader and a companion, and in the second trip, 2 young people with a leader and a companion. By going through these experiential activities, the young people under the supervision of their companions will be able to accomplish the tasks aimed at organizing, planning the trip, which highlight the objective of increasing the independent life skills, which is, taking on roles and responsibilities in the social environment. Even from the early stage of the program, young people can manifest a behavior with a higher openness to new activities, and this can be an indicator of a significant increase in self-confidence. The project ”Travel through the eyes of the soul”, is aimed at satisfying an essential need in the lives of young people, especially those with visual disabilities, namely the development of independent life skills, the, a number of 5 young people with visual disabilities, in a non-formal and experiential context, through train trips in various countries of Europe over the course of 15 days. The goal will be to achieve the objective of the target group to develop its organizational and planning skills in terms of trips throughout the entire duration of the project, as well as the increase of the experiential learning level of the 5 young people with sensory visual impairments from the N-E region of Romania, during the journey. Another goal would be to develop digital skills for the target group using technological resources throughout the project.
