The main goals of the project are: -Cultivating a more active approach to citizenship among adults. -Facilitating the exchange and sharing of various participation methods among partner organizations. -Providing adult workers with knowledge, tools, and experiences to enhance their ability to promote active citizenship among adults through blended methodologies, with a focus on gamification. -Increasing awareness among adults and adult workers about the support provided by the EU
We applied for the ReACTiv project in response to a clear and growing need to increase adult participation in democratic life and decision-making processes. Across our partner countries, many adults—especially those with fewer opportunities, from rural areas, migrant backgrounds, or disadvantaged communities—feel disconnected from civic life and insufficiently represented. Traditional forms of participation, such as voting, are often perceived as distant or ineffective, resulting in low engagement, lack of trust, and limited awareness of EU values and opportunities. At the same time, adult educators and organisations lack practical tools and innovative methodologies to motivate adults to engage actively in civic and democratic processes. There is a particular gap in the use of gamification and game-based learning in adult citizenship education, as well as limited opportunities to exchange good practices at European level. The project was designed to address these needs by empowering adults and adult workers with accessible, inclusive, and motivating learning tools. Through gamification, transnational cooperation, and non-formal education methods, ReACTiv responds to the need for stronger civic competences and social inclusion.
