The Youth Exchange was a youth-led initiative designed to promote active lifestyles, creativity, and collaboration through outdoor activities and the innovative use of escape rooms as educational tools. Young participants from Serbia took a leading role in shaping the program—designing escape room challenges, planning outdoor games, and facilitating activities—ensuring that the exchange reflected their interests, creativity, and diverse perspectives. This hands-on approach emphasized peer-to-peer learning, youth empowerment, and non-formal education. The central theme of outdoor exploration and game-based learning was developed and implemented by the youth themselves. During the YE we place a strong focus on intercultural dialogue, inclusion, and sustainability, while also fostering leadership and initiative in young people. The main aim of the youth exchange is to promote teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving through outdoor activities and the use of escape rooms as fun and educational tools. Objectives for mobility of the young people – Youth Exchange ● Encourage young people to engage in outdoor activities that promote physical well-being, environmental awareness, and a deeper connection with nature. ● Provide opportunities for young people to design and lead their own outdoor or escape room-based activities, empowering them to take initiative and explore leadership roles. ● Promote the use of non-formal education methods as effective tools for learning, inclusion, and personal development among diverse youth groups. The Training Course was designed to explore the use of role-playing games (RPGs) as innovative tools in youth work. Building on the proven benefits of play for social, emotional and cognitive development, the course aimed to empower youth workers to use RPGs as engaging structured methods for professional practice. One of the goals was for the participants to actively experiment with RPG mechanics, designed mini-games and facilitated exercises, to emphasize peer-to-peer learning, creativity and reflective practice. We wanted to focus on fostering emotional safety, inclusion, cultural sensitivity, self expression and confidence, to equip participants to bring these methods into their own work with young people. The main aim of the TC was to promote RPGs as practical, engaging and transformative tools in youth work, enhancing both youth worker skills and the experiences of young people. One of the key aims of the project was to leverage the psychological benefits of RPGs, such as rapid team bonding, safe self-expression, empathy and perspective-taking, to help youth workers create engaging, emotionally supportive, and transformative learning experiences for young people. Objectives of the TC: -Enable youth workers to apply play based and RPG inspired methods for personal and professional development. -Provide hands-on opportunities to design and facilitate RPG activities, supporting creativity, teamwork and problem-solving. -Encourage ethical, inclusive and culturally sensitive facilitation. -Highlight the value of play as a lifelong tool for learning, connection and empowerment in youth work contexts.
