1. Empower new mothers: Equip them with practical knowledge and skills in breastfeeding, baby care, and stress management. 2. Facilitate personal development: Address emotional well-being, communication, and conflict resolution. 3. Foster empathy and networking: Create a "mom-to-mom" support network where mothers could share personal stories and reduce isolation. 4. Strengthen knowledge: Provide flexible access to information via a participatory online learning platform(free resources on the website) 5. Provide e-guidance: Develop an e-handbook tailored to the specific needs of mothers throughout their postpartum journey.
We applied for this project to address the critical lack of support for new mothers during the postpartum period, a time often overshadowed by the emphasis on the baby's health. Statistics indicated that Postpartum Depression (PPD) affects 10-20% of mothers in Europe and up to 28% in Turkey. Our needs analysis showed that many mothers, especially those from underserved communities or without strong family networks, face social isolation, mental health challenges, and a lack of practical knowledge regarding self-care and baby care. This project was designed to provide early intervention through accessible digital tools to prevent and manage these challenges.
