Objectives

Our mission is to educate youth workers and provide high-quality and relevant activities for young people. The circumstances and realities of youth in today’s rapidly changing world are constantly evolving. To respond to the needs of the target groups they work with, youth workers must continuously adapt and explore new pedagogical methods. Often, youth workers do not have enough time to reflect on and develop new programmes due to their daily workload. Therefore, through our project, we aimed to strengthen the competences and capacities of youth workers for implementing Erasmus+ programmes and youth work. Through three mobility projects for youth workers (Let’s Draw, So Long and Thanks for All the Red Noses, and Building Strong Communities) we created an environment where youth workers could gain new knowledge, methods, and perspectives on their work with young people. The project aimed to achieve three main goals: The first goal was to enhance the capacities of youth workers to support the inclusion of marginalised young people by finding ways to facilitate their participation in the community, in youth organisations, and in EU youth programmes. The second goal was to contribute to the development and quality of youth worker training by improving the pedagogical, administrative, and logistical skills of trainers and organisers working at both local and international levels. The third goal was to develop and promote creative methods of non-formal education (such as performing arts, games, and gamification) to address various youth-related topics, including mental health and active citizenship. In addition to our three main goals, the project was fully aligned with the three core objectives of the EU Youth Strategy, the European Youth Goals, and the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme in the field of youth. We pursued the EU Youth Strategy’s three main aims — engage, connect, empower — by educating youth workers on how to foster the inclusion of marginalised youth. By empowering youth workers with new knowledge, we equipped them to better support young people facing fewer opportunities, encouraging their inclusion and active participation. We used innovative and engaging non-formal education methods such as circus pedagogy (clowning), graphic facilitation, gamification, and social games. These approaches equipped youth workers with creative tools to attract, engage, and empower young people. Additionally, the project fostered networking among youth workers and organisations from across Europe, strengthening transnational connections and collaboration. The project also contributed to the European Youth Goals by connecting young people with the EU through the presentation of EU youth programmes during each training course and by involving participants from many different EU countries — thereby promoting youth mobility. Youth workers were trained in inclusion, diversity, and creative educational methods, which also contributed to gender equality and greater participation of young people in youth programmes. Through the training activities, we aimed to improve youth workers’ communication skills and equip them to engage in constructive dialogue and share accurate and reliable information with young people. Our project indirectly supported the mental health and well-being of young people, by promoting inclusion, a sense of purpose, and youth engagement. Furthermore, by improving the quality of youth worker training, we indirectly contributed to better learning and employment opportunities for young people. By educating youth workers on the inclusion of marginalised youth, we sought to ensure that all young people have the space for active participation and engagement. When planning and implementing the project, we also followed the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme for Youth. Through our mobilities, we primarily pursued the goal of promoting learning mobility for individuals and groups, as well as fostering cooperation, quality, inclusion, equity, excellence, creativity, and innovation at the level of organisations and policies in education and training. We also supported the mobility of youth workers for non-formal and informal learning, and encouraged active participation of young people, cooperation, inclusion, creativity, and innovation within youth organisations and policies.
