Within our Erasmus Accreditation, we implemented a project in 2024 with two complementary but distinct objectives, focused on empowering young people and the professional development of youth workers in the context of university sport. 1. Youth Exchange: Empowering young people through active participation and non-formal learning. The main objective of the youth exchange, organized during the European Universities Games (EUG2024), was to empower young volunteers and participants to become active co-creators of the event, not just passive observers. The Games served as a practical learning environment (living lab) where young people developed key competences. The specific objectives were: - To foster active youth participation through the "youth for youth" method, where participants themselves prepared and delivered workshops on topics such as Fair Play, Dual Career, Mental Health, and Sustainability. - To strengthen the social, civic, and intercultural competences of participants through work in international teams and the use of non-formal learning methods. - To raise awareness of key European values and Erasmus+ priorities, such as inclusion, sustainability, and participation, and to connect them with practical challenges in sport. 2. Youth Workers Mobility: Capacity building and exchange of good practices. The objective of the youth workers' mobility, carried out as the EUSA Convention and EUSA-FISU Seminar, was the professional development of representatives from national and continental university sports federations, who act as youth workers in our context. The specific objectives were: - To strengthen the competences of youth workers in the areas of good governance, event organisation, funding, sustainability, and safeguarding in sport. - To enable a structured exchange of good practices and experiences between organisations, with an emphasis on knowledge transfer from experienced organisers to those with less experience. - To strengthen the international network of youth workers in university sport to foster future cooperation and raise the quality of youth work across Europe. Through these objectives, the project directly contributes to the implementation of our accreditation strategy, particularly in increasing international cooperation, supporting educational activities, and promoting European values in sport.
