Through the implementation of the Erasmus+ YOUTH project, we provided young people with the opportunity for holistic personal development. Through collaboration, experience, non-formal learning, and reflection, they developed key competences that helped them successfully face the challenges of a modern, rapidly changing society. The main goal was to empower young people to become more self-confident, creative, inclusive, digitally literate, and more aware of the importance of their mental, physical, and social well-being. In our project application, we clearly defined three main objectives: • Promoting the mental and physical health of young people • Developing digital competences and the responsible use of technology • Encouraging creativity, the arts, and cultural literacy During the implementation of the project, we also addressed two additional important objectives, even though they were not explicitly highlighted in the application: • Fostering social inclusion, tolerance, and equality • Strengthening environmental awareness and sustainable behavior The project was divided into five thematic areas, within which we achieved the following objectives through various activities, workshops, round tables, and group work: • Promoting the Mental and Physical Health of Young People The aim of this section was to raise awareness among young people about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, caring for mental well-being, and taking preventive measures against burnout. Young participants learned to recognize the effects of stress, the importance of regular physical activity, healthy nutrition, and sleep, and developed strategies for effectively coping with everyday challenges. • Development of Digital Competences and Responsible Use of Technology The project addressed the need to develop digital skills that are essential in today’s world. The objectives were to gain knowledge about the safe use of the internet, protection of personal data, critical evaluation of digital content, and the use of technology for creative expression. In addition, young people developed skills for remote collaboration, used tools for digital art and video production, and learned how to use e-government services. • Promoting Social Inclusion, Tolerance, and Equality One of the key objectives was to foster empathy and a sense of compassion for others. With the project, we aimed to reduce prejudice and social exclusion while encouraging intercultural dialogue. We actively involved young people with fewer opportunities – including immigrants, adolescents from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, and students with learning difficulties. Through workshops and discussions, they learned about social diversity, success stories, and the power of cooperation. • Encouraging Creativity, Art, and Cultural Literacy The aim was to bring art and cultural expression closer to young people as an important part of their identity and self-reflection. The participants created digital artworks, short films, photographs, and literary pieces that expressed their experiences and thoughts during the project. At the same time, they developed skills in media interpretation, visual literacy, and expression through various artistic media. • Strengthening Environmental Awareness and Sustainable Practices As young people live in a time of climate change and a growing ecological crisis, one of the project’s goals was to develop a responsible attitude toward nature. We encouraged waste reduction, sustainable behaviors (e.g., reduced paper use, smart use of technology), and environmentally friendly implementation of activities. The young participants also raised awareness among others about the importance of making green choices in everyday life. The common goal of all activities was to develop the participants’ intercultural, social, and personal competences, empower them to take an active role in society, and provide a safe, inclusive, and creative environment for learning with their peers. The project was not only an opportunity for learning but also an experience that left a lasting impact on many – shaping their views of the world, of others, and of their own future.
