The end of the pandemic has brought new challenges for young people, and this project aims to address them. The EU offers many opportunities for young people to gain important knowledge and skills, but it is difficult for young people to apply them in their everyday situations. This project has therefore taught them important guidelines and tools to be able to put the competences they have acquired in non-formal education at the forefront of, or alongside, their formal education, and to be able to present them in a meaningful way. The Valued YOUth project brought together 35 young people from five EU countries to bridge differences, work together and learn new things. They developed as individuals and created quality ideas for the common good of their communities and the world. The main objective was to introduce young people to learning competences, knowledge and skills, their recognition and valuation, and how to apply their knowledge in everyday life, in the labour market. At the same time, to find ways to raise awareness among relevant stakeholders about the valuation and importance of these competences. Other objectives were to promote European cooperation in the field of youth and to increase the capacity of partner organisations to act at EU and international level, to promote mobility opportunities for young people, to promote cultural diversity and consequently tolerance, acceptance of diversity, respect and freedom. The theme of the project was also strongly linked to the European Youth Goals of the EU Youth Strategy Resolution 2019-2027, in particular Goal 7 Quality employment for all and Goal 8 Quality learning.
