Objectives

With this project, we aimed to address the lack of awareness and the perceived inaccessibility of youth work among young people, and consequently to increase its recognition and visibility. Our project tackled the issue of insufficient digital competencies among youth, especially in light of the speed and scale of recent technological and societal changes. We sought to bring youth work closer to the digital sphere and to use modern digital methods to present youth work through social media platforms, where young people spend a significant part of their daily lives. In addition to these factors, we also aimed to address the issue of social exclusion among young people—specifically, the lack of opportunities for socially excluded youth and the lack of visibility and recognition of these young individuals. Youth work and its facilitators can and should respond to these challenges. The primary aim of the project was to inform and raise awareness among young people about youth work and its fields, to increase the sense of accessibility and invitation to engage in youth work, to enhance the visibility and voice of socially excluded youth within youth work, and as a result, to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion among them. Another goal was to ensure more effective and accessible implementation and organization of youth work through the integration of new methods. The objectives of the exchange were to foster greater tolerance and awareness among participants regarding social exclusion, to develop digital competencies through the use of a new platform for organizing work, to gain communication and organizational skills by planning and producing media content, and to acquire media competencies through the preparation, recording, editing, and publishing of media content on social networks. Local and international youth engagement opportunities are essential for young people – which is why, through this project, we brought topics in youth work closer to young people and the public through digital youth work and multimedia competencies, seen through the eyes of youth. The goal was to make youth work more accessible and attractive to all young people, especially those from marginalized groups, and to bring it into the digital environment, where young people spend much of their time. We wanted to offer young people information about various youth opportunities, to empower them for active participation and co-creation in youth work. We also sought to encourage the development of digital and multimedia skills. Another key goal was to plan and produce multiple multimedia contents on the topic of youth work, which now stand as visible results of our project.
