The motivation for the project was drawn from the following identified needs: At a social level, we are motivated by: 1. GROWING SOCIAL POLARISATION AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE: We are witnessing an increase in social divisions fostered by the power of social networking algorithms and the lack of reliability of traditional media. 2. AN ATMOSPHERE OF CONFLICT. In a climate of toxicity and tabooisation of topics, including some basic concepts, young people face difficulties in engaging in constructive dialogue. We observe the disintegration of groups, disagreements between young people and the learned culture of discrediting, which harms their interaction with each other. 3. INCREASING PASSIVITY OF YOUTH IN YOUTH WORK: Young people are becoming increasingly "users" and less and less active participants in planning, implementing and evaluating activities. The project addresses the following needs at different levels: NEEDS AT THE YOUTH LEVEL Promoting identity development, improving interpersonal communication and fostering constructive communication with others in person and on social networks, addressing aggressive communication on social media as a result of social polarisation, making young people more resilient to disinformation and more involved in taking the initiative, involving young people with fewer opportunities, strengthening EU citizenship. NEEDS AT SOCIETY LEVEL Addressing polarisation and the intersections of bubbles created by online algorithms. Creating interpersonal spaces for dialogue, fostering genuine dialogue between young people and others at private, organisational, local, national and international levels. EU citizens have a deeper understanding of its values and are engaged in promoting them. NEEDS AT THE LEVEL OF PARTNER ORGANISATIONS Emphasising the importance of dialogue as a key theme and encouraging leaders in the youth sector. Young participants who have entered the process of development into youth workers and leaders are trained to address conflicts, both internal and rooted in social polarisation, and are highly motivated to work for peace and mutual understanding. NEEDS AT YOUTH SECTOR LEVEL We are following trends such as the concept of "Youth-led youth work", which is both very effective and, at the same time, neglected, so we want to revitalise it through our project. The youth is a relevant and competent stakeholder in challenges related to social polarisation, constructive dialogue and active citizenship. PROJECT OBJECTIVES: 1. To empower the project participants in the area of understanding their own identity and interpersonal communication skills. 2. The project participants will be able to courageously enter into social dialogue and explore new social solutions together with those who think differently. 3. The partner organisations gradually develop new youth leaders who can take on more responsible roles in the development of new projects after the project. The highlights of our project that address the YOUTH EXCHANGE OBJECTIVES are - To promote intercultural dialogue, learning and a sense of European citizenship; - To develop young people's skills and attitudes; - To reinforce European values and eliminate prejudices and stereotypes; - to raise awareness of socially relevant issues to promote participation in society and active involvement in democratic life. - The project is open to all young people, focusing on those with fewer opportunities.
