The project aimed to engage young people from the wider Ljubljana region and involve them in the co-creation of the DIY Cabaret: Feminism is no joke!, which has been giving young people the opportunity to express their creativity and sociopolitical views since 2016, through participation in educational workshops. We managed to involve young people in all stages of preparation and implementation of the cultural and artistic event. This enabled them to connect within the region, to gain knowledge and experience that will empower them and also benefit them in their careers. We also wanted to start the process of rejuvenation of the Cabaret team and handing over the platform to younger generations. At the same time, we aimed to extend the approaches and values to the local environments of participants from the municipalities around Ljubljana, where they can spread awareness of social issues in the areas of values, equality, ecology. We also encouraged the participation of young people in addressing these issues.
