With this project, we aimed to help young people with fewer opportunities learn how to travel independently across Europe. We wanted to offer them the chance to explore, understand, and appreciate the diversity of foreign cultures and languages, and to develop openness toward everything different or unfamiliar. We also sought to help them recognize and challenge the boundaries of hate speech. Another goal was to encourage these young people to break down stereotypes and embrace diversity in all its forms — including differences in race, nationality, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, and health conditions — and, in doing so, contribute to making the world a better place. We also worked to raise their awareness of European values and improve their political literacy. Together, we discussed the president of the visited country, the speaker of parliament, and other key political figures, as well as national symbols such as the flag. We believe that a solid understanding of European institutions and governance helps individuals live better lives both within their local communities and in the broader European context. We also encouraged openness toward languages and cultures, as this broadens young people’s future educational and career opportunities. Another important goal was to teach them how to use digital technologies that break down geographical barriers and make the world more accessible — with a focus on the positive aspects of technology. Through this project, we also aimed to strengthen reading literacy, which remains one of the most essential skills in today’s world. Despite the influence of digitalization and smart devices, we wanted to teach young people how to form meaningful sentences in their native language and accurately translate them into a foreign language. We also placed strong emphasis on communication skills — improving speaking abilities, fostering intercultural dialogue, active listening, and confident public speaking without stage fright. We aimed to raise their awareness of the importance of sustainable development, renewable resources, and the environmental impact on both mental and physical health. We discussed the benefits of train travel, how comfortable and carefree journeys can positively influence their well-being, and how this mode of travel compares with others. The objectives of our project were to: - strengthen cooperation among young people, - build upon the knowledge and skills they have already gained, - raise awareness about environmental issues and sustainable development, - contribute to creating new job opportunities in the local community, - include vulnerable groups that are often less involved in community life, - increase awareness of physical and mental health, - promote European values while combating prejudice and stereotypes, - foster inclusion and equal opportunities, helping overcome economic, social, and cultural barriers, - develop specific practical skills, - strengthen teamwork and collaboration competencies among young people, - raise foreign language proficiency, - understand the business environments of other cultures, - embrace diversity through learning about new cultures and customs, - and encourage the development of digital content.
