Through the project, we aimed to enhance the quality of digital youth work and strengthen the competences of trainers and educators in Slovenia and Türkiye in combining digital and face-to-face learning. Our objectives were to understand the current state of digital youth work, collect and analyse good practices, and develop methodological approaches that enable trainers to effectively integrate the digital dimension into learning processes both in-person and online, while fostering mutual connection and exchange. We sought to create a resource library that brings together digital tools, methodologies, and learning support guidelines, thereby facilitating the preparation of higher-quality and more structured educational processes. Through cross-country knowledge exchange, online lectures and workshops, and an international conference, we aimed to connect professionals and strengthen their capacity to support young people in digital environments. The project’s ultimate purpose was to enable more integrated, safe, and inclusive digital learning and to contribute in the long term to the development and recognition of high-quality youth work particularly high-quality learning and to raise the broader visibility of youth work.
The project was developed in response to clearly identified needs in the youth sector in Slovenia and Türkiye, where rapid digital transformation has outpaced the digital readiness of many trainers and educators. It became evident that youth workers often lack adequate digital competences, tools, and structured methodologies to meaningfully support online learning, while the knowledge gained during the COVID-19 period is only partially applied in current practice. Trainers also face challenges in supporting young people in the safe and inclusive use of digital spaces, and many organizations lack accessible resources that connect digital tools with high-quality learning processes. The project therefore addresses the need to raise the quality of youth work through the mapping of good practices, the development of methodologies, and the establishment of a shared library that has strengthened trainers’ competences and improved learning experiences both online and face-to-face. It also responds to organizational needs particularly the creation of an inclusive online platform and the leading organization’s website and strengthens international cooperation and long-term partnerships.
