Objectives

Within this project we have organised four youth exchanges and one youth workers’ mobility, three of them were organised in Veľké Kapušany, Slovakia and one YE (A2) was organised in Targu Secuiesc in Romania. The first youth exchange (A1) took place between July 2-7th 2024, travel days were 1st and 8th of July, on the topic mental health, with a total of 45 participants. The title of the youth exchange was Mental Health Matters. Our project aimed to make young people understand the importance of mental health and what they need to do to be mentally healthy. The second youth exchange (A2) was realised between 22-27th August 2024 in Targu Secuiesc Romania, under the name Plan your Escape. This time we did not choose our town, Veľké Kapušany - the seat of our organization, but Târgu Secuiesc, a town located in Covasna County, Romania, rich in natural treasures that fit the theme of the project. The Youth Exchange brought together organisations from Hungary, Spain, Romania and Slovakia with a total of 46 participants. Plan your Escape project targeted young people who grew up in the digital world and are particularly affected by digital exhaustion. Many young people live with a screen and social media addiction, and this often affects their mental health. That is why the guiding principle of the project is healthy lifestyle, and the programs are developed around this. The program provides alternative programs for young people so that they do not sit in front of computers. The backbone of the program was the design of an escape room. The third youth exchange (A3) "Environmental Rehab" was realised from 13th of October to 19th of October 2024 in Velke Kapusany. Environmental Rehab youth exchange focused on environmental consciousness. Participants were motivated to decrease their own produced waste. By the activities participants were shown how they can reduce waste in their households. The program of Environmental Rehab included baking of bread by this raised awareness to homemade products, visiting Natural „bio” garden, preparing ecological and environmental friendly detergents, preparing autumn decoration from organic materials and different green workshops. The fourth youth exchange was implemented between 24–30 April 2025. The Digital Diet 2.0 youth exchange program addresses the issue of digital addiction. It offers activities that support participants in finding a healthy balance between productive and unproductive time spent online. Throughout the exchange, participants are actively engaged in efforts to reduce their screen time. This project was the continuation of our 2018 Digital Diet youth exchange. The aim of the exchange was to encourage young people to use their phones, various apps, and social media platforms less. We wanted to draw attention to the importance of personal relationships and the indispensability of spending time in nature. The goal was to help participants find a balance between the online and offline worlds. Youth worker’s mobility Two members of our organization took part in a study visit at our partner organization, Mustárház in Nyíregyháza. The aim of the visit was to gain an overview of the operation of another organization. We observed how they work with young people. Mustárház cooperates closely with the Municipality of Nyíregyháza and runs a so-called Student Mayor’s Office. This enables young people to express their views on important issues and to be involved in decision-making processes concerning them. The organization holds a Quality Label, regularly hosts international volunteers, and also operates a radio station called Mustár FM.
