The European Dialogue supports youth workers and young people on their journey to be knowledgeable in various topics so that they can deliver high-quality youth work and other activities, and to be the tolerant educated individuals, who have a spirit of initiative, care about their environment, and actively contribute to positive developments in their communities or societies through online and offline participation tools. These people can then easily inspire and empower youth to grow personally and professionally and to become active citizens developing their own projects and initiatives. The ED puts an emphasis on media literacies, critical thinking, responsible use and creation of media, respectful communication, as well as overcoming and addressing different challenges that the current world is bringing for the youth workers. This mission and approach were therefore behind the three activities implemented in 2024 and 2025, which contributed to achievement of objectives set in the accreditation plan of the European Dialogue. Each of the three training events corresponded with and contributed to fulfilment of the following goals set in the long-term strategy of the organisation, always to a certain extent as depending on their topic some objectives were dominant: - raise information, media and artistic literacy - foster and facilitate youth participation and advocacy; - support development of talents, creativity and professionalism; - promote human rights and fundamental freedoms. All of them corresponded with and contributed to this objective of the ED: - Inform young people about European affairs and combat misinformation about the European Union. Each training was designed to create a space for participants to gain new valuable competences they need on their path to become effective and responsible youth workers who are able to address various topics and support young people. It’s important for the European Dialogue and its partners that participants can actively contribute to the activities and are not only passive recipients of information. Hence each event stimulated the co-creation environment under the principle "for and with youth". The events provided participants with competences they can use to actively participate in public space and advocate for public interests. Also, their creativity linked with media, game, or artistic production was supported. All of the participants grew as professionals who are able to deliver high-quality youth work activities focused on topics of a respective training event and to sensitively deal with related issues that may occur during their activities (e.g. someone not respecting personal space or spreading hate-speech). All of the training events addressed several policy priorities, first of them being EU youth goals. Since their main topics - media and information literacy, human rights, and active citizenship in the digital age - are interconnected and influence each other in reality, specific thematic focus of the training events was on goals number 4 - Information & Constructive Dialogue and 9 - Space and Participation for All. At a general level, they also corresponded to number 1 - Connecting EU with Youth, because the European Dialogue, like during its other activities, was presenting various opportunities and good practices from across the EU, and number 8 - Quality Learning, as the programmes were designed to provide informative and engaging sessions led by experts in their fields and relevant study visits showing best and inspirational practices. For all the training events, the priority of the Erasmus+ programme “Inclusion and Diversity” was addressed by both inclusion of people from various backgrounds and within programme sessions and discussions.
