In today's fast-paced world, with many young people spending more time on screens and in urban environments, there is a noticeable disconnect from nature. This gap isn't just about missing out on the beauty of the natural world; it also means missing out on vital life lessons that come from connecting with nature. Our young generation is full of energy, passion, and a desire to create positive change, but without a direct connection to the environment, they might not fully realize its importance in the broader context. Nature provides crucial teachings such as patience, observation, and respect for life—lessons that can't always be acquired through books or online content. Naturalistic intelligence is the ability to engage with and understand the environment, helping individuals connect with elements like plants, animals, and the smallest changes in nature. The project aimed to reconnect young people with nature. We brought together participants from different parts of Europe, with the goal of inspiring a generation that not only appreciates nature but also understands its value. This project was about making young people aware of how to live sustainably and make choices that benefit both them and the planet. By engaging with nature, participants learned to make more eco-friendly life choices and became motivated to advocate for environmental protection within their communities. Through this project, we envisioned fostering a generation that would take the lead in caring for our planet and would inspire others to do the same. The main aim of the project was to cultivate a generation of environmentally-conscious youth, equipped with the knowledge and skills to promote and practice sustainable living. The specific objectives of the project were: • To engage participants in experiences that deepened their connection to nature and increased their understanding of sustainability through naturalistic intelligence. • To facilitate meaningful cross-cultural dialogues, fostering mutual understanding and collaboration on global environmental challenges. • To educate participants about sustainable living principles, empowering them to make informed and eco-friendly life choices. • To inspire proactive engagement with environmental issues among youth, encouraging them to advocate for sustainability within their communities. The long-term vision was to ensure that young people across Europe would not only appreciate nature but also understand it on a deeper level. By cultivating this connection, we aimed to pave the way for a generation that would make decisions that benefit both themselves and the planet.
