The primary goal we wanted to achieve by implementing our project was to contribute to a solution for the increasing problems of racism and xenophobia, both in modern European societies and in Turkey. Our fundamental rationale was the idea of highlighting the unifying characteristics of differences rather than their divisive aspects, which often lead to racism. As this unifying element, we chose "cuisine and food" for intercultural dialogue; because food is one of our most common and shared habits that symbolizes unity. The main objective of our project was to bring together young people from different European cultures on the common ground of this "culture table," allowing them to get to know each other in an atmosphere of respect and tolerance, and to create positive intercultural interaction by emphasizing similarities. In line with this main purpose, the sub-objectives of our project were set as follows: •To promote multiculturalism and intercultural learning by bringing different cultures together; thereby creating a positive interaction regarding European geography, culture, and values. •To support the breaking down of prejudices against differences and to reduce biases related to xenophobia. •To enable different cultures to introduce their own culinary cultures and cooking traditions and to ensure these cuisines are experienced through practical application. •To increase young people's awareness of global issues like racism and ensure their direct involvement in solution-oriented practices. •To use gastronomy as the unifying power of different cultures and to strengthen the culture of common life by disseminating concepts such as tolerance and respect. •To strengthen and make sustainable the cooperation between project partners. •To contribute to the dissemination of the Erasmus+ programme and to increase its visibility through inclusiveness.
