As the Entrepreneurial Youth Education and Sports Association, the “Path to Success for Youth” project was implemented as a comprehensive process aimed at strengthening young people’s active participation in education policies within the scope of the Erasmus+ Youth Field KA154 Youth Participation Activity. Throughout the project, our main priority was to ensure that young people become not only individuals who express opinions, but also active stakeholders who produce solutions and develop policies. Designed around a three-stage structure, the project brought together training, discussion, and policy development processes, enabling young people to systematically articulate their experiences and expectations regarding the education system. Findings obtained from regional meetings revealed that young participants largely perceive the current education system as exam-oriented, based on rote learning, and problematic in terms of equality of opportunity. At the same time, participants clearly demonstrated that they possess strong potential to make qualified contributions to education policies through their critical thinking skills, high levels of awareness, and innovative approaches. The summit meeting held in Diyarbakır constituted the most important phase in which these views and findings were transformed into concrete policy recommendations. Young people emphasized the need to shift toward student-centered and project-based learning models that support creativity and lasting learning, and frequently drew attention to the pressure and loss of motivation caused by an exam-centered assessment approach. Feedback regarding the summit indicated a high level of satisfaction with the inclusive atmosphere, strong culture of cooperation, and participatory approach, while also constructively highlighting areas open to improvement such as time management, technical infrastructure, and pre-event information processes. The five core policy recommendations developed in line with the project outcomes were shaped around structures based on active participation of students and families, continuous professional development models that strengthen teacher quality, social policies that support equality of opportunity, the integration of moral education and social responsibility into the education system, and the restructuring of education on the basis of sustainability and green education principles. These recommendations reflect the needs and solution-oriented perspectives of young people and offer an applicable and long-term outlook. Overall, the project increased young people’s self-confidence and awareness, strengthened the culture of participatory democracy, and clearly demonstrated that young people can play an active role in shaping education policies. As the Entrepreneurial Youth Education and Sports Association, we believe that this work constitutes a strong reference for future youth and education policies, and we continue to work toward a more inclusive and sustainable education system in which young people have a voice. In this context, the project did not only produce short-term outputs, but also created a learning and participation platform that strengthens young people’s long-term relationship with education policies. Throughout the process, young people experienced analyzing problems based on their own experiences, expressing these problems in policy language, and developing concrete, well-justified recommendations for decision-makers. In this respect, the project represents an important capacity-building effort that enhances young people’s advocacy skills and transforms them from passive recipients into active citizens. Moreover, the participatory environments created during the project enabled young people from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds to listen to one another, think together around common problems, and produce collective solutions. This interaction strengthened empathy, solidarity, and a sense of shared responsibility among young people, and demonstrated that diverse views can be discussed together in a constructive manner. In particular, discussions on equality of opportunity, regional disparities, and access to education for disadvantaged groups deepened young people’s perspective on social justice. One of the significant achievements of the project was that young people gained the ability to relate current global agendas such as digitalization, sustainability, and green transformation to the education system. Participants developed long-term and innovative perspectives by focusing not only on existing problems but also on the future needs of education. This approach created a strong awareness that education policies must respond not only to today’s challenges but also to the world of tomorrow. As the Entrepreneurial Youth Education and Sports Association, we consider it among our top priorities to share all findings and policy recommendations obtained throughout the project process
