Objectives

The project aimed to: • enhance students practical STEM competences through experimental and workshop-based learning, • strengthen digital competences through coding, robotics and simulation tools, • foster interdisciplinary learning between mathematics, physics and ICT, • improve teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills, • provide real-world STEM exposure through field visits and external institutions, • increase motivation and interest in STEM careers, • promote intercultural communication and cooperation, • ensure gender-balanced participation in STEM activities, • and strengthen students confidence in international and technical learning environments.

Background

The project was initiated in response to identified gaps in STEM education highlighted in international comparative studies, including PISA results, which indicated varying levels of student achievement in scientific reasoning, problem-solving, and applied mathematics across partner countries. All participating schools identified common structural needs: • strengthening of practical, hands-on STEM learning opportunities, • increased integration of digital tools in classroom practice, • improved interdisciplinary teaching linking mathematics, physics and ICT, • higher student motivation in STEM subjects, • more equitable access to STEM education, including balanced gender participation. • shared need to increase students exposure to real-world scientific applications and to strengthen intercultural competence through structured international collaboration.
