We aimed to push our students out of their comfort zones by having them live and work abroad for a month. This experience could strengthen their independence, self-confidence, and resilience, and support their integration into the job market. Furthermore, through this cultural exchange, we sought to enrich their worldview and encourage greater openness and understanding of diversity. Preparation and guidance were essential to ensure the quality of this experience.
Our students (aged 18–20) from childcare and home and elderly care programs completed their elective internships abroad, which significantly boosted their independence and self-confidence. Our network of international partners, including Slovenia and Spain, provided them with valuable professional opportunities. In 2025, through our project, we aimed to offer all students an international internship, with special attention given to those who face social and financial disadvantages.
