The aim of the project was to support young people with fewer opportunities in their personal development, strengthen their independence, and enable them to gain international travel experience that would otherwise be inaccessible to them. The project addressed the specific needs of our students, particularly socio-economic disadvantages, limited access to international activities, increasing levels of anxiety, and low self-confidence when facing new and challenging situations. A key objective was to encourage participants to take responsibility for their own learning and life decisions through active involvement in planning and implementing their journeys. This objective was successfully achieved, as participants independently designed travel itineraries, managed budgets, and handled real-life situations related to travelling abroad. Throughout the project, they developed essential competences such as financial literacy, organisational skills, communication in a foreign language, and teamwork. Another major goal was to strengthen participants’ self-confidence and their ability to cope with uncertainty and unfamiliar environments. This was clearly demonstrated during the mobilities, where participants were able to function independently in new contexts, solve unexpected problems, and cooperate effectively within their groups. For many participants, a noticeable reduction in communication anxiety and a significant improvement in social skills were observed. The project also contributed substantially to the social inclusion of participants and to improving their attitude towards education. Thanks to long-term preparation in peer groups and a structured mentoring system, participants showed increased motivation, responsibility, and mutual support. Positive changes were observed in their engagement with school responsibilities and in their ability to collaborate with others. Furthermore, the project aimed to broaden participants’ cultural awareness and strengthen their understanding of European values. Through direct experience of different European countries, cultures, and ways of life, participants developed a deeper appreciation of diversity and the importance of international cooperation. Overall, the project successfully fulfilled its main objective: to create a safe yet challenging environment in which young people with fewer opportunities could overcome personal barriers, develop key competences, and gain a transformative experience with a lasting impact on their personal development and educational pathways.
