Objectives

With this project we aimed to achieve several objectives. First, we wanted to strengthen the students scientific competences in biology and chemistry, especially through practical and experimental learning methods. Students were expected to understand how plants and natural resources can be used and to recognise the importance of biodiversity and sustainable agriculture for the environment and society. Another objective was to stimulate interest in STEM subjects through hands on learning. By working with regional plants, producing their own products and carrying out experiments and investigations, students were able to apply scientific knowledge in real life contexts. In addition, the project aimed to strengthen European cooperation with the partner schools in Italy and Spain. Participants developed intercultural competences, improved their communication skills and gained experience in international collaboration.

Background

We applied for this project to strengthen the scientific competences of our students and to provide them with practical learning experiences connected to sustainability. One key motivation was to help students understand how biological and chemical processes can be applied in real life situations and how regional resources can be used responsibly. Another important aim was to promote European cooperation and deepen collaboration with partner schools in Italy and Spain. The project addressed the need to develop intercultural skills and to give young people the opportunity to experience different working methods, perspectives and sustainable practices.
