By implementing our DiscoverEU project, we aim to achieve several key objectives that are closely aligned with the principles and goals of youth work. Our project is designed not only as a travel experience, but as a holistic educational and personal growth journey for young people, especially those with fewer opportunities. The objectives of the project are summarized below: 1. Promotion of personal and social development Our primary goal is to facilitate personal and social growth among participants. We wish to provide them with opportunities to gain new perspectives, develop a sense of independence and strengthen their self-esteem and self-confidence. By exposing them to different cultures and environments, we hope to broaden their horizons and foster a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. 2. Strengthening intercultural competence and tolerance A key objective is to develop intercultural competence in participants. Through interactions with different groups and immersion in different cultural environments, participants will learn to appreciate and respect cultural diversity. We strive to foster open-mindedness and tolerance, encouraging participants to become more empathetic and globally aware citizens. 3. Building essential life skills and abilities The project focuses on developing key life skills such as communication, teamwork, problem solving and adaptability. These skills are vital to young people's personal and professional lives and are often best learned through hands-on, real-world experiences. 4. Promotion of active citizen participation and community participation Our goal is to inspire participants to become active, engaged citizens. The project will include elements that encourage participants to think critically about social issues and their roles as active members of their communities and Europe in general. 5. Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices An important goal is to raise awareness about environmental issues and sustainable living. Through various project activities, we will encourage participants to adopt environmentally friendly practices and consider the environmental impact of their choices, aligning with the growing emphasis on sustainability in youth work. 6. Promoting digital literacy and media skills Recognizing the importance of digital competence in today's world, we aim to enhance participants' digital literacy and media skills. This includes training in creating digital content, responsible use of social media and critical consumption of digital information. 7. Empowering participants with fewer opportunities Central to our work is the goal of empowering youth with fewer opportunities. By providing personalized support and inclusive activities, we aim to ensure that these participants can fully participate and benefit from the project, overcoming barriers such as socio-economic limitations or geographical isolation.
