Through this project, the partner organisations aimed to significantly improve the social and labour market inclusion of adult migrants living in Spain, Italy, and Lithuania. Specifically, the project sought to: - Promote the social and community inclusion of adults of foreign origin. - Improve the employability and labour empowerment of the migrant population. - Facilitate access to adult education and training. - Strengthen the capacities of adult education trainers and professionals. - Raise awareness of diversity, equality, and inclusion. - Foster transnational cooperation and the exchange of good practices by leveraging collaboration between organisations from different countries.
Fundación Sieneva applied for this project following the identification of significant challenges in the social, educational, and labour market integration of adult migrants living in various European countries, particularly in Spain, Italy, and Lithuania. Throughout the extensive prior experience of the partner organisations in adult education for especially vulnerable groups, the entities observed that many people of foreign origin, despite residing legally in host countries, continue to face structural barriers that limit their full participation in society. Among the main needs addressed by Euro-Opp are the lack of access to quality employment, linguistic and cultural barriers, insufficient information about rights, resources, and training opportunities, as well as difficulties in the recognition and validation of prior professional competences. In addition, the project responded to another need identified among adult education trainers and professionals, who reported a lack of up-to-date tools to effectively support migrant populations in their social and labour market integration processes. Euro-Opp was therefore conceived as a comprehensive and integrated response.
