The main objective of our project was to provide tools to professionals who work with people with disabilities in the field of emotional management. The partnership’s secondary objectives were to: -Strengthen the professional–user relationship by equipping the former with greater knowledge regarding the emotional management of people with disabilities. -Improve the quality of life of people with disabilities who are supported by professionals trained in the specificities of their emotional management.
The Listen to Their Emotions project was proposed with the aim of providing tools to professionals who work with people with disabilities —or who are training to do so— so that they could learn, in their daily work, to listen to, accompany, recognize, and validate their emotions. This objective fell within one of the priorities of the Erasmus+ Guide, specifically the one related to Inclusion and Diversity. Within this priority, several subgroups can be found, the first of which is precisely dedicated to disabilities. The needs addressed stemmed from the lack of specific training reported by disability professionals with whom we worked in our previous project Draw Your Emotions. These professionals told us that we could adapt the materials and workshops we had delivered to people with disabilities so they could update their skills and improve their professional development. From this need arose the Listen to Their Emotions project, with the ultimate goal of continuing to work toward improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and the skills of the professionals who support them in their daily lives.
