The overall objective of the ARCHILAB project was to contribute to the development of VET by enriching the labour market with qualified professionals in the field of distance education. To achieve this, the project pursued four specific objectives: (1) to develop an innovative non-formal educational programme to train future "eLearning Architects" and address an existing gap in the labour market; (2) to create and implement digital resources that improved access to the curriculum and enhanced the training process; (3) to strengthen the operational and pedagogical capacities of the partner organisations by training staff in e-learning design and development; and (4) to establish a cooperation network among educational institutions, sector partners and experts to support knowledge exchange and the continuous updating of the curriculum in line with the latest eLearning trends.
The project was developed in response to the lack of specific training programmes for the emerging role of the eLearning Architect, a key profile in the growing digital education sector. Despite the strong increase in demand for online and personalised learning, there are still no standardised curricula or enough qualified educators to train these professionals. The partner organisations identified a shared need: to strengthen their digital training capacities and provide real employability opportunities for young people and professionals in VET and non-formal education. - Backslash aimed to equip its educators and unemployed young people with digital competences aligned with the Spanish labour market. - Pannonia needed to strengthen its capacity to deliver advanced e-learning programmes and train new professionals in the field. - LIBERO, in turn, sought to modernise its educational offer and improve youth employability in Serbia. In this way, the project addressed a structural gap in the European education and training system.
