Through the implementation of this project, we have managed to identify and accurately assess the needs and expectations of young people through various meetings and interviews. These meetings have allowed us to clearly define the fundamental objectives that will guide our actions. First of all, we intend to promote a comprehensive development of the social and cultural skills of the young participants. Interacting with people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds will give them the opportunity to significantly improve their social competences as well as their ability to adapt to different contexts and situations. The project also focuses on strengthening problem-solving skills, both at the individual and group level. At the individual level, participants will be confronted with activities requiring autonomous organisation, which will contribute to increasing their independence and reducing insecurity in situations outside their comfort zone. At the group level, activities will be geared towards promoting cooperation and companionship, elements that are closely linked to the development of interpersonal skills and the adoption of fundamental values. During the project, particular emphasis will be placed on raising awareness of inclusion, equal opportunities, non-discrimination, respect, active listening and active participation. The project will also serve as a platform for the development of leadership and management skills, with each participant being assigned responsibility for a specific task to be carried out autonomously. Although they will be supported by accompanying persons, the main role will be played by the young people, thus strengthening their leadership and decision-making skills. These aspects are intrinsically linked to the personal and professional growth of the participants, offering them an invaluable opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge that will be crucial in their professional future, as well as in future international experiences. The specific objectives we aim to achieve are directly aligned with the needs and interests expressed by the young people in the meetings prior to the start of the project: - Promote effective collaboration and teamwork. - Strengthen the bonds between participants and foster a spirit of companionship. - To improve communicative and expressive skills in foreign languages, with a particular emphasis on English. - To develop exploration tools that are useful in both local and foreign contexts. - To expand networks, which is fundamental for the professional future of young people. - To foster participants' independence and autonomy. - Acquire competences in the use of key digital tools to cope in different environments (e.g. Google Maps, virtual credit cards for currency exchange, etc.). - To promote values such as inclusion, respect, equality and non-discrimination, values that will be reinforced through interaction with a diversity of people and unique experiences. - Promote the adoption of sustainable and environmentally responsible practices, such as the use of efficient and environmentally friendly means of transport, supporting local businesses, reducing the use of plastics, responsible consumption to avoid food waste, and choosing eco-friendly accommodation that is fully integrated with its surroundings, contributing to the sustainable development of local communities and the responsible growth of the tourism industry. Finally, we believe that one of the key objectives of the project is to foster independence and autonomy in young people. Travelling by train through different countries and cities will provide them with the opportunity to make autonomous decisions and solve problems effectively, which will strengthen their self-confidence and ability to act independently.
