The main objectives of our projects were : 1. to acquire new knowledge about the relationships between dance, the body, nature and wellbeing, 2. to involve people who are isolated from cultural activities in both rural and urban areas, with a particular focus on an inclusive and participatory approach, 3. to create a transnational network of professionals and citizens, raising their awareness of issues related to ecology, health and wellbeing.
The RHIZOME(S) project was born out of a desire to acquire new knowledge about the interactions between dance, the body and nature. It also responds to our desire to initiate research focused on more inclusive and participatory teaching methods, while developing new forms of sensory experiences in the field of artistic creation related to nature. Finally, we also wanted to be able to continue and deepen the work we began a few years ago to raise public awareness of ecological issues, health and well-being.
