The partners are pursuing two main objectives in carrying out this project. The first is to strengthen the sense of European citizenship among the different target groups and, in doing so, reinforce support for the European Union and its fundamental values. The second objective is to raise awareness among students, as well as teachers and educators, of the local impact of European Union policies on their living environment (respect for fundamental rights, freedom of movement, infrastructure funding, support for the local economy, etc.). In pursuing these main objectives, several secondary goals are also targeted: - Develop students’ digital skills (as well as teachers’ ability to guide them). - Contribute to Media and Information Literacy and the fight against disinformation and opinion manipulation. - Encourage the practice of citizenship (at all levels, particularly European) through engagement in representative democratic processes, as well as through active citizenship initiatives.
The partners (EIBS, Lycée Édouard Branly, and Radio Romania) established this partnership to address two main objectives. First, to tackle the lack of understanding and engagement with European issues among students. This need, identified through numerous surveys across the European Union and observed by teachers in classroom settings, leads to distrust of European institutions, and even their rejection in the medium term. To meet this need, teachers and educators have identified a lack of innovative teaching tools that can be used in the classroom or during educational activities and workshops with students. Finally, the project aims to develop a methodology that promotes awareness of European citizenship in a way that is more closely aligned with the local realities experienced by students and teachers. At the same time, it seeks to address the sense of distance that European citizens feel from institutional decision-making processes, which consequently leads them to question their legitimacy.
