Objectives

By implementing the project we will aim at increasing the awareness of mental health services available for young people age 13-23 and reduce stigma surrounding mental health issues. Objectives involve supporting Be Well Youth Advisory Panels to enable a peer led approach to youth mental health with a goal to design and deliver local mental health and well-being conference. Members of YAPS will work with local stakeholders to deliver a conference for 150 young people from Limerick City and County. They will also collaborate with 15 local schools to further identify needs of young people in relation to mental health issues to raise awareness of mental health services. Our project will aim to increase well being, resilience and mental health of young people, strengthen youth participation and provide a platform for dialogue. Our goal is to access rurally isolated and include more marginalised groups of young people.
