Objectives

The project goal ist to accomplish the priorities of inclusion, diversity and increasing VET attractiveness through an hands-on and arts-based workshop designed for students in 8th and 9th degrees to enhance creativity, emphasizing the value of manual skills and encouraging students to consider VET pathways (apprenticeships). By fostering an inclusive learning environment, the project also ensures participation of disadvantaged and socially less integrated students. The partners motivated the students by leading them through a well-coordinated and finely tuned three step-program. The students gained not only new hands-on experience and recognized the deep meaning of handcraft, but were also empowered by transversal competencies like improved communication and listening skills, cooperation and the sensitivity of seeing and helping each other. They felt connected to one another.

Background

The common partners' target was to get primary school students of OŠ Fram into VET paths with creative, participatory and accessible educational methods. Bridge offered a three step program for students at the age of 12-14 years in order to get interested in handcraft professions. The overall goal is a mutual contribution to develop students' values, to discover their abilities and talents by using their hands in order to solve the problem of workforce shortage in craft trades by applying inclusion and diversity. Both partners were and still are highly motivated by this topic and by their cooperation.
