The main goal of our project was to tackle the serious issue of cyberbullying among youth. We aimed to raise awareness, develop skills, and encourage responsible online behavior using innovative youth work methods. We recognized the growing problem of cyberbullying as a significant challenge impacting young people's mental health, well-being, and safety. Our aim was to empower youth to take an active role in creating safer and more respectful digital spaces. Our main objectives included raising awareness about the different forms and effects of cyberbullying. We wanted to equip young people with practical tools to recognize, prevent, and intervene in cyberbullying situations. We also aimed to promote a culture of empathy, respect, and support online. We focused on improving participants’ digital literacy, highlighting the importance of digital citizenship and responsible online conduct. These skills are essential in today’s connected world. Our hope was to nurture a generation of youth who feel confident navigating cyberspace safely and responsibly. We wanted them to recognize the importance of building positive online communities. Additionally, we aimed to set up a youth-led support network and advocacy platform that would continue after the project ended. This network is designed to encourage ongoing peer support, share best practices, and advocate for stronger policies against cyberbullying. We also wanted to facilitate cultural exchange, understanding, and dialogue among diverse youth from different countries. This would help build solidarity and a shared sense of responsibility in addressing online safety issues. Our project also connected with broader European values like inclusion, respect, and social unity. We targeted youth from various backgrounds, including those with fewer opportunities, marginalized groups, and young people who were not familiar with cybersecurity and digital safety practices. We believed that by involving a diverse range of young people, we could foster mutual understanding, challenge stereotypes, and encourage inclusive participation in digital spaces. In the end, the project aims to create a safer and more respectful digital environment where youth can lead change, advocate for respectful online behaviors, and support their peers in dealing with cyberbullying. Our long-term vision is to inspire positive behavior change and policy development at local, national, and European levels so that online spaces become safer and more inclusive for all young people.
