Objectives

The idea of the youth exchange project “Equality Across Borders” was created through a collaboration of six organisations, driven by a common concern that gender inequality affects our society in different ways. While working on the project “Equality Across Borders”, MVidee and our partner organisations discussed the issues we face, the needs of young people, and the ways we can contribute through our project, not only on an individual level but also to society. Therefore, we decided to create a project that would strengthen young people and, at the same time, increase their sense of responsibility towards their communities.  We have defined a strong aim to equip young people with the necessary tools, skills, knowledge, and motivation to become active citizens of their communities. By building diverse activities that focus on communication, increasing leadership skills, understanding human rights, and the importance of diversity, we aimed to provide a comprehensive experience for our participants from six countries, inspiring them to take positive action.  With this project, we aimed to empower participants and equip them with an understanding of gender equality, human rights, and the discrimination and stereotypes surrounding gender. Through engaging activities, we aimed to encourage participants to explore and appreciate the diverse cultural perspectives on gender equality. With this approach, we aimed to establish an international network of young advocates for positive change and promote gender equality.  Objectives: To enhance the understanding and skills of 36 youths from six countries regarding gender equality, enabling them to engage with these issues and advocate effectively and critically. To empower the participants to act as ambassadors for gender equality, advocating for human rights and leading initiatives that challenge and reduce gender-based discrimination in their communities; To establish a network of young leaders who will continue to collaborate and inspire others within their communities, thereby ensuring the longevity and sustainability of the project’s impact. To promote Erasmus+ opportunities and various educational resources. Together with the objectives, each partner organisation set its goals and aims for the project.  MVidee, the coordinating organisation, aimed to create a space where everyone could share their perspectives and build a network through hands-on experiences. We aimed to inspire participants with our diverse activities, make them understand the importance of their voices and their role in social change.  For the Youth Center of Georgia (YCG), it was essential to foster an understanding of gender-based violence by equipping young individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence necessary to address it effectively. The Georgian organisation highlighted the power of taking individual initiatives for creating an inclusive future. It was an excellent opportunity for YCG as a hosting organisation to make a positive impact on the local community through the campaigns and activities done by the participants.  The Patras Youth Club aimed to enhance creative skills, such as theatre and artistic, using them to address inequality and discrimination. They aimed to enhance critical thinking skills among individuals through Theatre of the Oppressed, enabling them to engage in discussions about inclusion and gender issues with their peers. The Coaching Bulgaria Association wanted to equip participants with the skills to encourage them to become advocates of change. They focused on developing communication, leadership, active listening, and confidence to prepare individuals to address issues related to inequality effectively.  Creative Youth from Armenia aimed to enhance the knowledge of their participants about gender diversity. They considered the project a chance to help young individuals break stereotypes in their communities and develop a sense of belonging to European values.  Organisation Creative Youth Academy Hungary has vast experience in digital storytelling. Therefore, their goal was to utilize digital tools in enhancing participants’ knowledge. The Creative Youth Academy Hungary aimed to demonstrate the power of digital tools in raising awareness and promoting positive change among individuals.
