Objectives

Cooking can be fun especially when it is done in an international company! It can bring out the deepest emotions in the other person and his or her culture. The aim of the Youth exchange is to discover our culture, habits, taste and other differences through cooking. It is interactive programs mixed with educative, recreative and inter-cultural activities. In a mixed group they learn from each other and each others culture. The intention of this exchange is also to mix and create a balance between young people with disabilities and 'regular participants' so that it becomes a life experience for both group that they will never forget this experience and promote respect, dignity, and inclusivity while reducing stigma associated with disabilities they have. One of the main elements which bring people together is food! Nowadays people are so conscious of food and drink, and that they have to be healthy! Cultural traditions are very often influenced and determined by our food habits: it can give different explanations in different cultures and will be able to appreciate the other persons taste! This can sound so stupid, this idea can look like heresies, but if we reflect on it, it can lead to the pleasure of tasting more, knowing more and learning more about the other, other cultures in a creative way: through cooking and tasting.
