Objectives

The last journey organized by our foundation as part of the DiscoverEU Program inspired three participants to take on further ecological challenges during subsequent exploratory journeys across Europe. The program encouraged them to delve deeper into other ecological issues, and knowing that due to age criteria they would not be able to participate in another adventure, they organized meetings upon their return to share the results they created and promote the program to other young people. During the meetings, the girls tried to encourage other youngsters to change the way of their thinking and participate in the program. At the meetings, 10 young people facing geographic and economic obstacles expressed initial interest in joining. The main topics discussed by the youth included: - Areas threatened by drinking water shortages and water conservation - Raising awareness of the importance of air quality - The effects of climate change - Increasing plastic recycling - Biodiversity as the key to understanding and protecting our nature Young people are increasingly feeling a strong need to act and impact the planet and their surroundings. This project meets those needs and responds to the keen interest of young people in ecological challenges. It involves travel aimed at promoting and strengthening pro-ecological attitudes. It's also significant that the travel goals will be aligned with several key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), established by the United Nations in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda, namely: 6. Clean Water and Sanitation 11. Sustainable Cities and Communities 13. Climate Action 14. Life Under the Water 15. Life on Land Additionally, the youth will: • Expand their knowledge of ecology in all discussed areas • Discover or deepen their passions and interests • Increase their intercultural awareness • Raise awareness among Europeans about various ecological challenges This project will mark the beginning of a broader change, not just locally.
