The primary goal of our project is to empower young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, by providing them with an enriching, educational experience through DiscoverEU. We aim to foster their personal development, improve their communication skills, and encourage international friendship, all within the context of a sustainable and intercultural learning environment. Key Objectives: 1. Developing Communication and Teamwork Skills: One of the main objectives of the project is to improve participants' communication and teamwork abilities. By involving them in collaborative tasks such as planning the itinerary, documenting the journey, and sharing responsibilities, participants will enhance their ability to work efficiently in diverse groups. This will also foster a sense of mutual respect and shared responsibility, critical components in youth work practices. 2. Self-awareness and Personal Growth: Through their participation, we aim to help young people gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their strengths, and areas for growth. The project encourages reflection and self-evaluation through journaling, feedback sessions, and peer-to-peer evaluations. By comparing their personal development from the beginning to the end of the project, participants will gain valuable insights into their own progress, a key element in fostering autonomy and self-determination in youth work. 3. Promoting International Friendships and Cultural Exchange: Another objective is to cultivate international friendships and promote cultural exchange. By interacting with local communities and other international participants during the project, the youth will learn to appreciate diverse perspectives and values. This interaction will help break down cultural barriers and foster a sense of belonging to a broader European community, in line with youth work practices that emphasize inclusivity and intercultural dialogue. We also aim to raise awareness among young people about sustainable living practices. The project integrates sustainability into every aspect of the experience, from choosing eco-friendly transportation methods (such as trains) to engaging in activities that reduce environmental impact. This practical approach to sustainability will help young people understand their role in protecting the environment and encourage them to incorporate these values into their daily lives. Through this project, we want to raise awareness about the opportunities provided by DiscoverEU and other European mobility programs. By sharing their experiences with their peers and in their local communities, participants will act as ambassadors for these initiatives, inspiring other young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities, to apply and benefit from such programs. From a youth work practice perspective, this project focuses on non-formal education, fostering an inclusive environment where young people can explore their identities, learn through experience, and develop key life skills. The project emphasizes collaboration, reflection, and empowerment, aligning with the core principles of youth work that seek to provide young people with the tools they need to thrive in both their personal and professional lives. By implementing this project, we aim to create a positive impact on the participants' personal development while promoting active citizenship, sustainability, and intercultural understanding.
