Objectives

The project was designed to offer a group of five young people from a rural background a practical learning experience aimed at responding to real needs identified before implementation. At the outset, the young people faced limited access to personal development opportunities and non-formal learning, fear of unfamiliar situations, low confidence in their own abilities, and little exposure to contexts beyond their local community. The project objectives were formulated directly in relation to these barriers and guided the entire process of preparation, implementation, and reflection. The first objective focused on acquiring the skills and attitudes needed to overcome the multiple barriers faced by the five young people during the project period. The activities were designed to help participants develop practical and cognitive competences such as orientation, route planning, daily organization, budget management, use of digital applications, and adaptation to unexpected situations. Learning took place through direct experience, in real travel contexts, interaction with unfamiliar systems, and identifying solutions in moments of difficulty. This objective was consistently integrated, from the preparation stage of the mobility to the daily reflection sessions during the project. The second objective aimed at increasing self-confidence among the five young people during the project period. Participants were encouraged to take responsibility, make decisions, and test their limits within a safe framework, supported by a youth worker. The mobility experience served as a context in which young people could observe their own progress, recognize their achievements, and learn to manage fear of the unknown. Over the course of the project, their level of personal autonomy increased, and confidence in their ability to cope with complex situations was strengthened. The third objective was to promote participation of young people from rural areas in learning experiences within the rural community during the project period. The project was also conceived as a visible example of access to European opportunities for young people from Scoarța and Bălănești, communities where such experiences are often perceived as inaccessible. Through dissemination activities, the involvement of participants in sharing their own experiences, and the project’s visibility at local level, the aim was to change perceptions and stimulate the interest of other young people in non-formal education and learning mobilities. All these objectives were defined in line with the real needs of the participants and the specific context of the rural communities they come from. The project structure was designed so that each activity contributed concretely to achieving these objectives, ensuring that the mobility experience had a clear impact both on the young people involved and on their local community.
