By implementing the PROMOTE project, we aimed to foster inclusion, empowerment, and meaningful social engagement. A key objective was to increase the visibility of older women (70+) from disadvantaged backgrounds in Romania, Spain, and France, highlighting their life experiences and contributions in order to challenge stereotypes and promote equality across generations. We also sought to empower these women and inspire younger generations by showcasing 30 authentic life stories, emphasizing resilience, perseverance, and achievement. These stories serve as powerful role models for young girls while enhancing the self-esteem of senior participants. Another objective was to strengthen the digital and artistic competences of educators and trainers, equipping them with the skills needed to produce video interviews and create engaging digital content. The project promoted intergenerational and intercultural dialogue through workshops and the “Living Library” concept, encouraging mutual understanding. We aimed to reinforce community bonds and social cohesion, while developing sustainable outputs such as a multilingual e-book, video interviews, and an educational toolkit. The project laid the groundwork for future European collaboration.
We applied for the PROMOTE project to address key needs related to inclusion, education, and social cohesion. The project aims to increase the visibility of senior women (70+), especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, by valuing their life experiences and contributions, while challenging age and gender stereotypes. At the same time, it seeks to inspire younger generations and boost the self-esteem of older women through authentic “portraits” presented via video interviews and a multilingual e-book. The project also responds to the need for improving digital and artistic competences among educators, particularly in contexts where such skills remain limited, especially in adult education. It addresses the lack of intergenerational dialogue by creating meaningful exchange opportunities through workshops and the “Living Library” concept. In addition, PROMOTE strengthens European cooperation and ensures long-term impact by providing accessible educational resources. In summary, the project addresses the needs for inclusion, digital skills development, intergenerational dialogue, cultural engagement, community building, and capacity building for educators, while ensuring the long-term visibility and accessibility of its results.
