Objectives

The aim of the project was to create a Discover Your Potential development project and to support a maximum of 20 university students in the discovery of their personal potential, talent and the development of key personality skills that will help them not only in personal but also in professional growth (eg self -reflection, responsibility, teamwork, creativity, communication skills). Gallup of the questionnaire) and diverse educational activities - 4 professional workshops, experience weekends, talent, individual and team mentorings, realization of the team project and the final conference. We have followed the success rate of development through the answers in the output questionnaire, where students evaluated what they learned as part of the development program. Part of our goal was also the creation of an inclusive and supportive environment during the duration of all activities of the development program for all participants. It was important for us to make students feel admitted, motivated and supported during activities. We have fulfilled this goal through creating a safe space for discussion, establishing rules of mutual respect and individual approach to each participant within the whole duration of the project, and taking into account the specific needs of students who fled to Slovakia before the war in Ukraine. With the whole program and its activities, we tried to improve awareness of the possibilities of informal education and its importance in personal and professional development. In order to realize and experience that they will achieve their development not only by formal higher education, but also by supporting and equally effective informal educational activities - namely all the activities of the development program. The perception of the importance of informal education was monitored through the input and output questionnaires, where students reported their expectations and their achievement at the end of the project. By creating a Discover Your Potential development program, we continuously linked the three areas on which the whole program focuses. It is a area of talent development in which students have made a Gallup questionnaire that generated top 5 talents. Based on the results of the questionnaire, they underwent one Telly mentoring with a certified mentor. They learned the basic characteristics of their top talents, how to use them in personal and professional growth and how to develop them. The second area was the topic of project management, which students were engaged in four workshops, in the implementation of the team project and also within the team mentoring. At workshops they learned the theory of project management, which they used in practice in the preparation, writing and implementation of their team projects. In these phases, they were accompanied by a lecturer and team mentor (max. Three meetings). The third area was the personal development and development of Soft Skills - active listening, clear and effective expression, non -verbal communication, communication empathy, cooperation and teamwork, the ability to receive feedback, conflict resolution, relationship building and many covers. On the experience weekend, students went through various training and joint tasks, where they learned a lot about themselves, where they tried how they work in the team or as individuals. They could also address their personal topics on individual mentoring (60 minutes), which they completed with their mentors. In the project we managed to link these three areas to create a functioning and meaningful program.
