Objectives

With our project, we plan to increase the freedom of movement of ten visually impaired young people aged 18, support their personal development and create an accessible blog explaining their awareness of accessibility in Europe. Our project is planned in two flows, five disabled participants and seven companions will accompany our participants in the flows. We hope to have a great impact with the increased knowledge and skills of our disabled participants who will visit Europe for the first time with this project. The general objectives of our project are as follows. 1. To raise awareness of our participants on disability rights and encourage them to become active citizens 2. To increase the self-confidence of our participants by strengthening their independence skills and social skills 3. To raise awareness about the accessibility of transportation and living spaces in Europe 4. To ensure that they become participants who recognize different cultures, respect cultural diversity and have first developed European citizenship. Our specific objectives are to support them to become self-sufficient disabled individuals with improved travel skills, knowledge about disability rights and accessibility advocacy, improved cultural understanding, active use of foreign languages, increased self-confidence, improved stress management skills, increased knowledge about Erasmus+ program and opportunities. In terms of youth work, it adopts the principles of intercultural learning, social skills, active citizenship, lifelong learning, volunteering, cooperation, equality and inclusion. -Intercultural learning For twelve days, our youth with disabilities will visit different countries, get to know different cultures, learn new things from these cultures and experience intercultural learning. -Social skills Traveling by train in a different country for twelve days, our young people will increase their social skills, develop their skills in stress management, crisis management and take an active part in the process of communicating. -Active citizenship Young people who have an idea about accessibility and disability rights will be able to make comparisons and take on the role of active citizenship through an accessible blog they will compose. -Lifelong learning Youth, who will experience first-hand that learning can also take place outside of school, will travel to different countries by train, meet different people, speak foreign languages, have the opportunity to observe the practices of other countries on accessibility on site and share these experiences with our association and all other peers with disabilities when they arrive. -Volunteering Youth, who will take part in our project will be selected on a voluntary basis, and after the mobility of our project, we think that they will voluntarily take part in our association and guide young people with disabilities like themselves. -Collaboration Youth, civil society organizations and public institutions will work in cooperation at all stages of our project and this will contribute to the success of our project. -Equality and inclusion Youth, who will benefit from Erasmus Plus opportunities will serve exactly this purpose of our project and our 18-year-old visually impaired young people, who have the opportunity to go abroad for the first time in their lives, will guide their peers. After our project, the leadership skills of our participants will improve, they will experience lifelong learning, their mental health will be positively affected by having new experiences, their cultural awareness will increase, their awareness of accessibility will increase, their awareness of disability rights will increase, their level of knowledge about Erasmus+ opportunities will increase, and positive contributions will be made to their personal development. We also hope that our project will be a model project as we think that it will support in determining accessibility standards in travel, thanks to the participation of young people with disabilities and the accessible blog we will create. Our blog can be considered as an advocacy tool for sharing information, raising awareness on disability rights, accessible travel, and bringing different civil societies together to create a new network. We believe that our project has the potential to create significant and lasting impacts for both participants and society. We have planned in detail for the successful implementation of our project and the dissemination of our results. With our project, we plan to take an important step to improve the quality of life of young people with disabilities and to create a more accessible society.
