Objectives

The main goal of the project was to increase the participation of children with special needs in sports and physical activities, and to support their physical, mental, emotional, and social development. We also aimed to strengthen families' ability to guide and motivate their children towards sports by raising awareness, to improve educators' competence in inclusive and adaptive sports education techniques, and ultimately to ensure that children become more active, independent, and socially participating individuals within the community. Creating long-term and sustainable impacts through the project's outcomes was also among our objectives.

Background

We applied for this project because children with special needs (especially those with intellectual disabilities) have limited participation in sports and social life, and their families lack sufficient information and support in this process. Through this project, we addressed needs such as supporting the physical, mental, and social development of children, raising awareness among families, and increasing the capacity of educators regarding inclusive sports methods.
