The HoloVision project set out to empower youth workers with the knowledge, confidence and creative mindset needed to use holographic storytelling as a forward-looking tool in non-formal education. By blending technical upskilling with values-based reflection, the project sought to advance several EU Youth Goals—most notably Information & Constructive Dialogue, Space & Participation for All and Sustainable Green Europe—while fully endorsing the horizontal Erasmus+ priorities of digital transformation, inclusion & diversity, and environmental sustainability. In doing so, the initiative also supported the broader EU commitment to human dignity, equality and non-discrimination. Our objectives were threefold. First, we aimed to deepen participants’ digital literacy so they could design, edit and project holographic visuals capable of transforming abstract concepts into immersive experiences that resonate with today’s media-savvy young people. Second, we wished to embed ethical and ecological awareness by positioning holography as a resource-light, cruelty-free alternative to traditional display methods, thereby modelling responsible consumption, respect for animal welfare and low-carbon practice. Third, we set out to foster intercultural dialogue and inclusive approaches: youth workers from diverse backgrounds would co-create culturally resonant content, exchange methodologies and develop flexible strategies for transferring holographic techniques into everyday youth-work settings—urban and rural, mainstream and marginalised alike. By uniting these strands, the project aimed not only to produce high-quality learning outcomes for individual participants but also to strengthen organisational capacity, stimulate new transnational networks and create a ripple effect that encourages other actors to adopt innovative, digitally enabled, and sustainability-focused youth-work practices. In essence, HoloVision aspired to raise the bar for relevance, quality and impact in European youth work, equipping professionals to engage young people meaningfully in a rapidly evolving digital era while embodying the core values of the European Union.
