The Upper Austrian Youth Parliament enabled young people in the age group 16 to 20 years to participate actively in the political system and to learn democracy. Needs and ideas of the young target group should gain importance because of the official format and media coverage and have to be taken up by the Upper Austrian regional Parliament. All young people in Upper Austria received the opportunity to communicate their needs and political proposals. Democracy and participation by young people was to get more attention in the media. This should lead to higher approval of the democratic system in the target group. After finishing the first Upper Austrian Youth Parliament, a big part of the youth delegates expressed their willingnes to be involved in forthcoming activities. This was another main target of the project group, to establish a group of so called Democracy-testimonials.
