The Waves of Inclusion project was implemented to address the limited visibility and participation of young people with disabilities in public discourse and digital media. The partners recognized that many young people with physical disabilities face barriers to expressing their views, engaging in social life, and accessing opportunities for participation, particularly in digital spaces. At the same time, youth from immigrant backgrounds in cities such as Vienna often experience additional challenges related to integration and representation. The project, therefore, sought to create an inclusive environment where these voices could be heard and valued. The main objective of the project was to strengthen the social inclusion of young people with disabilities through digital storytelling and modern communication platforms. By using tools such as podcasts, video platforms, and social media, the project aimed to provide participants with practical opportunities to express their experiences, discuss challenges, and engage with wider audiences. More specifically, the project pursued four interconnected objectives. First, it aimed to empower young people with physical disabilities by equipping them with skills in digital content creation and storytelling. Second, it sought to promote social inclusion by amplifying the voices of young people with disabilities and encouraging dialogue between young people with and without disabilities. Third, it aimed to raise awareness about the realities, challenges, and contributions of young people with disabilities in both Austria and Serbia through accessible digital media. Finally, the project intended to strengthen transnational cooperation between civil society organizations working on disability inclusion and youth participation.
