Objectives

The project Getting out of Digital Box was created in response to a shared concern expressed by youth workers and young people from Belgium, Italy and Finland during the EYE Opener training in Rome (2023): the growing impact of digitalisation and artificial intelligence on young people’s mental health, social relationships and daily habits. The project aimed to help participants develop a critical understanding of digital technologies, reflect on the risks of hyperconnectivity, and discover more balanced habits through mindfulness, creativity and group activities. Its objectives were to: • explore the impact of digitalisation and AI on mental health and social life; • strengthen intercultural communication and civic engagement; • develop transversal skills such as critical thinking, teamwork, creativity and resilience; • promote conscious, inclusive and balanced use of technology; • foster inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities in a safe, participatory environment; • reinforce EU values such as diversity, solidarity, and human rights.
